Welcome to the Valencia Community College Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign website. We are grateful for your interest in the Valencia Foundation and for your dedication to students and their success.
The Valencia Foundation provides vital support to students and to the college through scholarships, endowed teaching chairs, and program support. Recognized as the largest community college endowment in the country, the Valencia Foundation currently awards over $1,250,000 each year in scholarships and more than $775,000 in endowed teaching chairs for faculty and program support. Although significant, the scholarship dollars awarded meet less than half of the unmet documented financial need of our students each year. In order to grow the endowment to a level which will allow more students to engage in higher education without the burden of financial difficulties, the Foundation has embarked upon a capital campaign with a goal of raising over $20,000,000 in 2008.
As Valencia Community College faculty and staff, we know first-hand the realities, challenges, and struggles our students face as they work to earn their degree or certificate. Financial difficulties are frequently the reason students stop attending school as they must work (sometimes multiple jobs) to provide for families and other obligations. However, we all know that earning a college degree or certificate can make a huge impact on the quality of life and future for each individual student. The Valencia faculty and staff help each student we encounter to realize their dreams. We can also join together in contributing to the Foundation and make a lasting impact on the ability of the Foundation to provide scholarships to deserving students.
